Cheating Bastards

Posted by jtsmyth8 on June 15, 2009

Surprise, surprise. Students, teachers, and others 34 in all arrested for cheating on the state exam. These students are competing for more than just test scores, they are competing for a way of life. Ace the exam and you live amongst the elite and corrupt. Nice cushy state jobs where you can start accepting bribes right away. I’m sure it’s not the first time nor will it be the last.

Have no fear. Those who fail miserably can go on to a life of additional cheating. Take for example the Chinese anti-porn software company. All you need to do is copy someone else. Steal the software, copy the code, and then re-brand it and sell it as your own. Then bribe your buddy in the government to make it mandatory on every pc sold. Then sit back and count the money. Hopefully the Americans won’t notice … oops.

Well there’s always the military.

Stench turns out to be dead body

Posted by jtsmyth8 on June 17, 2008

You have got to be kidding me! A dead body in no way smells like rotting food. (not that I know what that smells like …) Come on! If something stinks, wouldn’t you complain to your room mate about it? Rather than let it stink for 3 days?! Gross! I don’t think I could live there after that.

“For three days, students Kid Wu, 22, and Stella Pan, 21, did not know they were living with a corpse.

They had detected a foul smell coming from their flatmate Jiang Ting’s room.

But they dismissed the odour as they thought it was rotting food.

Unknown to them, Miss Jiang, 22, a Chinese national, had been dead for a few days.

It was not until 7 Jun that the gruesome discovery was made, after Mr Wu and Miss Pan had tried to contact Miss Jiang to get her to pay her share of the utilities bill.” (story)

Singapore #1 among students

Posted by jtsmyth8 on April 30, 2008

ASEAN university students are overwhelmingly gunning for one place to work and play – Singapore.

A survey of university students across the region last year finds the smallest South-east Asian country coming out the biggest winner.

More than half of the 2,170 undergraduates polled, or 54.3 per cent, said they would ‘most like to work’ in Singapore among the 10 Asean nations.

Malaysia is a distant second, garnering 11.2 per cent. This is followed by Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam.

As Mr Prapat Rucktajittakarn, 21, a senior-year student at Thailand’s Institute of International Studies Ramkhamhang told The Straits Times: ‘Yes, I would like to work in Singapore as well. As you can see from other students who used to work abroad, they probably gain more experience in their lives.’ (story)
