A teen who is now under probation for torching his uncle’s car turned hostile at the trial of his mother on Wednesday.

Student Louis Hong Hsieh Shuen, 17, was testifying as a prosecution witness on the third-day trial of Teo Sew Eng on two charges of abetting him him to burn a car and a van at a multi-storey carpark on Oct 23, 2006.

Teo, 53, denied providing a plastic bag containing a bottle of petrol, a packet of charcoal and a face cloth to her son that evening.

Hong pleaded guilty last year to torching Mr Ernest Tan’s car and was placed on 24 months’ probation. The damage caused was $40,500.
