Hawker centres closed for rennovations

Posted by jtsmyth8 on April 1, 2008

Foodies will have to look elsewhere to satisfy their cravings as two hawker centres at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 and Upper Boon Keng Road have closed for upgrading from Tuesday. The National Environment Agency said the hawker centres – Blocks 160 and 162 at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 and Block 17 at Upper Boon Keng Road – are expected to reopen at the start of next year.

During the upgrading period, most stallholders from the two hawker centres have chosen to take a break.

The upgraded centre at Ang Mo Kio will have more ramps and wider paths to make it more accessible for the elderly and the handicapped. (story)
