MobileOne Keen On Bringing Apple iPhone To Singapore

Posted by jtsmyth8 on November 15, 2007

It’s going to happen. If you’re really keen you’ve probably already bought one from ebay. The iphone is coming. Singapore is just too large of a market to be ignored. Maybe the idea is to become a larger mobile provider to get an advantage on the smaller firms. That way Apple may be more inclined to choose them over the other providers. Apple is going to choose the best partner for them, regardless of size. Service will always be at the top of the list of priorities for Apple … and making money of course.

“We are in talks with two companies in Asia for an acquisition or an investment,” Neil Montefiore told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview late Monday on the sidelines of the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress.

Montefiore declined to provide names of companies, but said M1 is interested in investment opportunities in the areas of content delivery and social networking. The company is also keen to evaluate opportunities in developed markets.” (story)
