Undergraduate fined for hacking RJC

Posted by jtsmyth8 on October 23, 2007

How many times is too many? When will this kid learn? I say jail him. Let him learn the lesson the hard way. Clearly the slap on the wrist is not enough in this instance. He needs to learn right from wrong.

“But the court allowed him to pay his fine in 15 instalments of $1,000 each. Zhao could have been jailed up to five years too.

Zhao’s legal fees has amounted to $2,500. In September, when he was first charged for his offences, he was remanded for three days when he could not make the $8,000 bail set by the Subordinate Courts. He was only released after friends and classmates raised the bail money after they read about his predicament in The Straits Times.” (story)
