Social networking on the rise
Posted by jtsmyth8 on September 27, 2010
Facebook, Twitter, blogs, you name it Asians are jumping on the technology faster than any other region. So much so that Internet bigwigs are starting to notice. Just some numbers for you to consider: 3 out of 5 people in Singapore have a Facebook account. There are over 200 million bloggers in China double that of the U.S. 37% of total tweets come from Japan, Indonesia and South Korea.
So what does it all mean? Advertising. More advertising targeted for Asian users. It’s a sheer numbers game. More eyes looking at your site, mean more people to flash commercials to. I am not looking forward to wading through all the ads to do my status updates.
