More tickets for Grand Prix

Posted by jtsmyth8 on July 2, 2008

More tickets have been released for the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, bringing the race’s total capacity to over 100,000. With tickets at several grandstands selling out fast, organisers Singapore GP have added an extra 1,600 seats for the race on Sept 28.

Most of these seats will be at the new 1,100-seater Connaught grandstand, to be built on Esplanade Drive opposite the Esplanade. The only catch? The new grandstand will not offer views of the giant television screens that will monitor the race action around the circuit.

Another 500 seats will also be created at the existing Turn 2 grandstand. The additional seats will be sold from Friday. This means that the Singapore race can now accommodate a total of 100,600 fans. (story)
